Dear Friends,
It is hard to believe that we’re already at the end of July! I hope your summer has brought you extra time with family and friends to enjoy the season and the beautiful weather.
Though the summer has flown by, we have one more event to help close out the season: On August 17, Senator Laura Ellman and I host our 3rd Annual Heroes and Helicopter event. This annual event allows families and friends to connect with the first responders and other local heroes that serve our community. I’m always especially excited for the helicopter landing and demo, which allows the young (and young-at-heart ♥ ️) an up-close look at a helicopter’s inner workings.
In our office, the summer intern team has been diving deep into the ideas that all of you have brought to us, whether at your doors, at Citizen Advisory Panels, or at other community happenings. Over the team’s recent car ride/caravan to Springfield, they convinced me that the office needed to up our social media game. As a result, you can now follow us on Instagram under @repyangrohr. They’ve also taken over a section of this newsletter with a message of their own to the 41st District.
Finally, if you or someone you know is interested in working in our District office, please take a look at our newest job opening, below. Constituent services form the basis of all our work, and we are looking for someone who embodies passion and commitment for serving the community.
As always, please never hesitate to reach out to contact me if my office or I can be of service to you or your family.
Janet

Open Position in District Office
Constituent services are the core of our work in the 41st district, and we’re currently looking to fill a part-time Constituent Services Coordinator role in our Naperville office. Our office serves as a bridge between the constituents of the 41st District and Illinois agencies. The role of Constituent Services Coordinator is a service-oriented position that prioritizes the communication between constituents and legislators through resolving issues, organizing outreach events, and maintaining records. If you or someone you know is interested in serving the community, please let us know by sending a cover letter and resume to Careers@RepYangRohr.com.
A Word from Our Interns
Dear District 41 Constituents,
This summer marks the fourth year that Representative Yang Rohr has collaborated with an intern team, with our group this year being the largest yet. Currently, we have a team of 14, with four returning Senior Interns and ten new Legislative Interns. Our tasks vary from door-to-door outreach, researching potential legislation, and attending events on behalf of the Office. By speaking to all of you at outreach or our Citizen Advisory Panels, we continue to cultivate a greater understanding of the needs of District 41 and the issues that resonate with our community.
As interns, we are grateful for the opportunity to have hands-on experiences that have expanded our knowledge on the legislative process, research and interpersonal skills, and the structure of local/state government. Last summer, our team had a hand in researching many of the bills that the Representative passed in the 103rd General Assembly. This summer, our new team is continuing to research ideas you have brought forward to us in preparation for next year’s legislative session. Every Friday we come together with Representative Yang Rohr and Chief of Staff Donna Wandke to share the work we’ve done throughout the week and hear their feedback on the progress of your bill ideas.
Our team also helps create community events for our office to host every month. These events allow us to honor various important milestones and figures within our community and give constituents another chance to speak with our team in person.
Beyond engagement and research, our intern team truly is a family. Ranging from rising seniors in high school to rising juniors in college, the breadth of ages, interests, and majors brings an abundance of perspectives to our projects and conversations. As we participate in weekly team-building activities, fun outings outside of work, and our annual Springfield trip, we have grown closer as not just colleagues but as friends. During our time in Springfield, our team was better able to understand the flow of legislation and see the behind-the-scenes work that happens after we send our bills off to the Capitol.
We are extremely excited about all of our projects and are grateful to have spent the summer interacting with and learning from constituents in our area. Each year our team learns from the experiences we’ve had and works to make the next summer even more productive and beneficial to our incoming interns. We hope that our capacity for research and constituent outreach continues to grow and serve our community!
If you know a student who is interested in joining our summer 2025 intern team, please encourage them to contact our office at info@repyangrohr in January to request an application.
Sincerely,
The Summer 2024 Intern Team
